Illustration Friday: Climbing

Alrighty, here is my painted version of the sketch posted earlier for Illustration Friday's: Climbing. I decided to try different brushing techniques and how I blended the colors. I rather like the way I usually paint instead, but anyways...

There is definately more that could be done with this piece. I'll probably get back to this later and add some detail on the buildings and touch up the lizard's skin. Lemme know what you think.

Illustration Friday: Finalized Image

And here is my finished illustration of my take on "Pale"- The fish is terrified at the sight of the shark, and becomes pale-faced with fear...while still managing to look cute at the same time.

Despite having computer problems for the past couple of days, I believe this came out rather well. Comments and critiques are welcome.

Illustration Friday: Sketch

Here is my sketch for Illustration Friday: "Pale."

Thinking of the word pale, I thought of pale-light colors. Most of the roughs I came up with had a theme of shock/fear involved in them one way or another. Think of "Are ya alright? You looked like you just saw a ghost!"
My plan is to paint this in Photoshop, using a pastel color palette primarily. Pastel colors to me come off as "pale," and also using those colors helps stage an uneasy mood of peacefulness, but terrified/fearful at the same time (basically enhancing the little fishy's thought process/emotions).
