Here is the latest project from my advanced design class. We were to select a piece of audio and animate text to it. I chose an excerpt from "Beauty and the Beast." This dialogue sequence is where Beast becomes angry about Belle not coming to dinner. Anywho, here it is:

Riggin' Stuff
I thought I'd post what I've done for the rigging tutorial that is available to us in our animation class. (I highly recommend that anyone beginning in 3D should at least try to do this tutorial).
Basically you are given the "Pluggo" Model and rig him with a couple of wire parameters (knee swiveling and ankle rolling). I decided to take an extra step and play with morpers a little- to get some eye blinkage in there.
Here is a basic jump animation I did with the rig. Far from perfect, but that what practice is for-to get better.
Just to show some improvement comparison:
I did the Blender Animation Tutorial (the more in-depth one minus the lip syncing) over the previous summer, and I must say that it paid off HUGE with my current animation class. The class material is coming much easier and quicker to me than I thought. My advice: Anyone who is going to be in 241 next semester: Play around in Blender or any other software over the summer. It will pay off.
(BTW...Blender is FREE in case you didn't know --> http://www.blender.org/)
Anyhoo...Here be the video mateys:

Long Overdue Update
I figured it would probably be best to post on my blog after neglecting it for so long. There are quite a few projects I am working on right now. I'll update them over the next couple days.
For today's post: "Rocky and Trusdale"
Right now (yes...at 3:16am) I'm finishing my textures and lighting, and preparing for rigging. I'm finding rigging not as tough as I had initially thought, it's rather therapeutic actually.
Below is my 360 view of my main models:
This is a couple weeks late, but comments & critiques are always welcome. (And yes I do know that the smaller dinosaur doesn't look too friendly)

Project Updates
I finally got caught up this week after having the flu. So, here is a long overdue update.
I'm currently in an introductory animation class at IUPUI, and we are required to create an animated short at a minimum of 20 seconds. Here are some pre production images:

As you can see, I'm a big dinosaur fan. Naturally I decided to have my story involve dinosaurs. The premise of this story is going to be like Tom and Jerry-just with dinos and a chess board. Our animatics were delivered earlier today as well, and is our last pre production step. It's all up to finishing the animation now. But here is the animatic. Nothing too special, just setting up where everything will be and what everything will do.
